Safety first

The Safe Meetup Guide

In Dalni, deals close face to face, cash on meetup — a feature that deserves rules. Read them once, and they become habit.

The golden rule: not a riyal before inspection

No advance transfers, no “deposits” outside the app, and never pay for goods you haven't seen. Payment is cash, at the meetup, after you inspect it yourself — that's Dalni's whole model.

Before the meetup

  • Browse the seller's profile: the verification badge, the “productive family” badge, the “fast responder” badge, and the reviews.
  • Keep all negotiation and agreement inside Dalni chat — it stays documented if you ever need it.
  • Agree on the place, the time, and the final price before you set out.
  • Don't share your card number or personal details — nobody has a reason to ask.

The meetup place

  • Pick a well-lit public place: mall entrances, cafés, petrol stations, the Corniche.
  • Look for the “verified pickup point” badge in the app — places sellers have converged on.
  • First deal with a new seller? Avoid homes and isolated places.
  • Busy hours beat late ones — the crowd is your friend here.

During the meetup

  • Inspect the goods carefully: switch it on, try it, compare it with the photos and the description.
  • For expensive items (phones, watches, electronics) bring someone who knows them.
  • Count the money in front of the other party — settle clearly and part with no ambiguity.
  • Complete the deal in the app after collection — it protects your record and builds the honest seller's reputation.

For families and women

  • Choose family-friendly places in daylight — mall entrances and their cafés are best.
  • Tell someone in your family the time and place, or take someone with you.
  • Ask the community before buying: “Fazaa” and the “Dalni Majlis” exist for exactly this.
  • Any hint of discomfort = cancel the meetup. No deal is worth it.

Not allowed on Dalni

  • Anything the law of the State of Qatar criminalises — weapons, unlicensed medicines and supplements, counterfeits.
  • Paying or “reserving” by advance transfer outside the app — the most common scam pattern.
  • Impersonation, manipulating ratings and Fazaas, and harassing users.
  • Full details in the Terms & Conditions §9.
